Culinary Instructor Internship:

Education Requirements

  • College Student currently enrolled in Family Studies, Nutrition, Hospitality Management, other Hospitality related programs

  • Have maintained a GPA grade than or equal to 3.2 - 4.0

  • Experience working with school aged children (4-18)

  •  Minimum two years culinary or related work experience.

  •  Current SERV Safe certificate.

    Qualifications

  • Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.

  • Must be energetic, patient and have an interest with working with the youth and adults.

  • Must be able to pass a background check. Fingerprinting clearance required before beginning work in school districts.

  • Thorough understanding of quality customer food service and preparation.

  • This role requires uniforms.

  • Must be dependable and have transportation to the assigned school. Must be able to work independently without supervision.

    Role and Responsibilities        

    1.      Supervise, and instruct students in curriculum – based culinary arts.

    2.      Attend Professional Development trainings.

    3.      Other duties include taking student attendance, helping clean up classrooms after program use.

    4.      Ensure the completion and accuracy of all required documentation for the culinary after-school program.

    5.      Uphold professionalism with students, program partners including principals, teachers, and parents.
